Abate Irwin Inc. was founded in October of 1994 by Roger Irwin and Lance Abate. Originally headquartered in Carnegie, PA, the company quickly outgrew the facilities with $4,000,000 in revenue generated in the first year alone. In just four years, the company quadrupled their revenue to $16,000,000. In December of 1996, A-I moved to its present location in Eighty Four, PA. On an average, A-I does between $18,000,000 and $20,000,000 in business per year.
In 2004, Lance Abate retired from A-I, and the company and stock were taken over by Roger Irwin as the sole owner. Robert George joined Abate Irwin, Inc. in 1996 to help develop the industrial market of the company. Bob was promoted to Vice President in 2004 and handles all industrial work aspects and oversees the company’s insurance and safety programs.
In 2000, Jason Short came on board as Safety Coordinator for Abate Irwin, Inc. Jason handles the company’s daily safety issues as well as the training for all of A-I’s projects.
